Early on the first day of the private tour, you will be picked up from your hotel, your luggage loaded onto the air conditioned luxury vehicle and you will make your way westward towards the Peloponnese. Your first stop will be at the Corinth Canal. The Ancient Greeks had slaves drag boats across the narrow spit of land that separated the Aegean Sea from the Adriatic Sea; modern man has created a canal to allow ships to pass. The Corinth Canal is a wonder of modern engineering; we will stop here for a short time to take in this modern marvel. Leaving Corinth, the tour makes its way to Epidaurus to visit the town's incredible amphitheater. This well-preserved site, built over two thousand years ago has some of the most perfect acoustics you will ever experience. Somebody standing on the stage can be heard whispering from the back row. Epidaurus has to be experienced to be believed and your guide will give you more information on this fascinating place. After Epidaurus, your driver makes its way to the town of Napflio, the first capital of Greece, a picturesque town with an intriguing fort in the center of its harbor. After lunch, your driver then makes its way to Ancient Mycenae, home to some of the oldest civilizations found in Greece. The home of the lauded King Agamemnon this ancient site was once one of the most important centers of the Bronze Age. The famous Lions Gate is the crowning jewel of the archaeological site which you will have the chance to explore with you English speaking guide. After this tour, the driver will make its way to the town of Olympia in the west of the Peloponnese, where you will check into your hotel for the evening. Dinner is included.

Day 2

After breakfast and checkout, you will board the vehicle for the quick journey to the site of Ancient Olympia, home of the Ancient Olympic Games and the site where the flame for every Modern Olympic Games is lit. The tour of this fascinating site will take in the Sanctuary of Zeus and the rest of the site of the Ancient Olympic Games. Your English speaking guide will give you a complete overview of the site and its fascinating temples and stadiums. Your entry will also take you into the Olympia Archaeological Museum where artefacts from the ancient games are on display. After your time at the Olympic site, you will board the vehicle and travel North to the port town of Patras and then to the East to Rio. At Rio, the driver will travel over the largest suspension bridge in Greece. A marvel of modern engineering, the bridge spans the Gulf of Corinth, joining the Peloponnese to the Greek Mainland. Once over the bridge, the driver makes its way north to the quaint town of Nafpaktos. Later in the afternoon, you will travel to the ancient town of Delphi, where you will check into your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be provided at hotel's restaurant.

Day 3

Today will be one of the more memorable days of the tour. Checking out of your hotel after breakfast, the driver will take you the short distance to the site of the Sanctuary at Delphi. This is one of the most sacred and beautiful ancient sites in Greece. Nestled high in the hills at the foot of Mount Parnassos, Delphi has been part of the Greek psyche for many centuries being home to the famous oracle and the vestal virgins who used to tend to the Temple. You will spend the morning discovering this fascinating ancient site for yourself. Your guide will give you more information about this very special place, letting you take in the ruins of the temples, bath houses, and the well preserved amphitheatre. Your entry ticket also gives you admittance to the Delphi Archaeological Museum with its fascinating array of artefacts. Around lunch time you will board the vehicle and make your way to the town of Kalambaka, travelling through the towns of Amphissa, Lamia and Trikala on the way. The landscape changes as you travel north, the mountains become starker and the land more lush. Arriving in Kalambaka, you will check into your hotel and have dinner.

Day 4

Waking in Kalambaka in the shadow of the mountains, you will spend the morning at one of the most unique places on the plant. After you have your breakfast and check out of the hotel, the driver will wind its way up the mountain to the site of the monasteries at Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Meteora means "suspended in air" which is literally how most see these monasteries, perched high up on the sheer cliff and mountain faces. This site has been fascinating visitors for decades. In olden times, there were no stairs and access to these structures, with supplies winched up to the monks by pulleys and windlasses. The monks would move between the monasteries using retractable robe ladders. Today, these ancient wonders are still home to many monks. On the tour of the monasteries you will visit some of the monasteries that are more easily accessible to the public and take is their artistic wonders, marveling at the very different life of those who spend their day hovering high in the sky like eagles. After the tour of Meteora, the driver will take you back to Athens, travelling though Thermopylae, the place where 300 Spartans held of the Persian army. After a short stop for photos, you will travel through the town of Kamena Vourla and back to Athens to your accommodation hotel accommodation for the night.

Perfect trip to Skopelos and Athens with walking tour of Athens

Anastasia at Antelope Travel organized an amazing trip that for us - we postponed it over 20 years and the trip planned with Anastasia lived up to the expectations.

We knew we were going to fly from the UK to Skiathos as we wanted to spend time on Skopelos. While I usually do all of our travel planning personally, we decided to give a travel agency a try at the recommendation of a friend. Everything was so simple and went so smoothly, with transportation arranged from plane and ferry to hotels, a car arranged while on Skopelos brought to the hotel, transportation from the ferry at Agios Konstantinos to Athens by Iannis, who was both a very friendly driver, and very knowledgeable, with recommendations and history information as he drove.

While in Athens we took the 5 hour walking tour of the Acropolis and museum led by Maria. She knew a few days in advance we needed to leave an hour earlier than planned and made sure we were in line just as the Acropolis opened, saving us hours of wait time. Without her knowledge both the site and the museum could have been overwhelming, but instead we felt like we understood both the ancient nature of the site, and the current archeological situation. She was outstanding.

The entire trip went without a hitch, and was simple so all we had to do was relax on the island and enjoy the sites in Athens. The hotels were lovely with great breakfasts. I would book with Antelope again the next time we go to Greece, they made it all so easy.

Fabulous trip and attention to detail!

Anthony Alagiah with Antelope Travel planned the perfect family trip for us in June 2023. Anthony was a pleasure to work with, he communicated in detail and was very responsive to any questions I had and even stayed in touch while we were in Greece.
This was our first visit to Greece and he patiently guided me during the planning process and planned perfect itineraries for Athens, the islands and the mainland so we could experience a variety of different parts of Greece. Keeping three teenage boys engaged and interested isn't always easy but all of Anthony's tours, tour guides and activities worked perfectly for all of us!
We had many air, land and sea transfers and Anthony's planning and his partners ensured that everything went smoothly for us.
We were referred to Anthony from friends and I highly recommend him! I have now referred other friends to him, as thanks to his expertise, we had a fantastic family trip to Greece.
